Dawn of Asset Declarations

Every 31st January from midnight to dawn we run a data crowdsourcing event - we complete a task the Parliament should do: create an open and searchable database of the asset declarations of MPs.

Summary

On 31 January midnight the Hungarian Parliament publishes the asset declarations of MP-s on its website. These are mostly handwritten PDF documents that are almost useless for comparison and monitoring.

To change this, on 31 January night in some hours’ time with the help of our colleagues, friends and volunteers we turn the freshly published PDFs into an open database. In cooperation with TransparenCEE and the Engine Room a pilot program has been created to microtask the work.
