EU Anti-corruption report 2014

The European Commission published its first anti-corruption report in 2014. During the 2 years of preparation, the Commission received inputs from local experts. K-Monitor acted as the Local Research Country Correspondent for Hungary. A next report was scheduled for spring 2017 but the Commission withdrew from releasing it.

Parliamentary Montoring for Transparency

This publication surveys and evaluates availability and openness of a large number of key parliamentary data types in 12 parliamentary chambers in the Visegrad and Western Balkan countries.  Its aim is to help increase availability, quality and re-usability of parliamentary information by comparing the surveyed parliamentary chambers, identifying strengths and weaknesses and recommending specific strategies to mitigate them. K-Monitor contributed to the Hungarian chapter of the report.

Money, Politics and Transparency

Global Integrity launched the Money, Politics and Transparency website, a suite of tools, data, and analyses that digs into the role of money in politics all across the world. The website houses Global Integrity’s Campaign Finance Indicators dataset, a national-level investigative survey of political finance regulation and enforcement in 54 diverse countries. K-Monitor contributed with the research on Hungary to the project.

Transparency and accountability in public procurements

In this study from 2012, we assessed the public procurement systems of the four Visegrad countries, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary respectively, in a comprehensive manner, with particular regard to transparency and accountability issues. The project was supported by the Visegrad Fund.

Whistleblower protection in the CEE region

K-Monitor and the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union organized a project on Legal Regulation of Public Interest Disclosures in Eastern Bloc Democracies in 2011. The two Hungarian NGOs created a virtual conference on whistleblower protection and published a report in the Public Integrity Journal.

Transparency International Hungary published its second NIS country report in 2011. The study analyses 13 pillars of integrity in Hungary that are considered as the foundations of transparent and accountable governance. K-Monitor provided the chapter or anti-corruption agencies to the report.

Energy, Russian Influence in CEE Europe - 2017

Prominent think tanks from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, and Hungary, throughout 2016 and the beginning of 2017, Expert Forum conducted a thorough research to better understand and spotlight Russia’s influence on the energy sector. This research resulted in a public policy report for the countries in the region with recommendations for both Brussels and Washington DC stakeholders.
